Plains yucca, Yucca campestris. Endemic to West Texas near the southern New Mexico state-border where it grows in deep sand dunes. Usually trunkless but producing a compact, heavily branched flower stalk composed of numerous greenish-white flowers. Like all yuccas Native Americans obtained fiber and food from this plant.
